COME RAIN, COME SHINE
BRING IT ON AND WE'LL MAKE THE BEST OF IT
By Don Coons
21 April was an overcast and rainy day but it didn't spoil our fun. A great group gathered at Steve and Charlene Riggs's home for a fantastic potluck luncheon. It had to be great because we have one of the finest group of cooks around. For some unknown reason, most of the dishes were some variation of Mexican food so you could say we celebrated an early Cinco de Mayo.
We were able to invite Clarence and Vickie Hancock to join us and get to socialize with some of our members. Clarence and Vickie just moved to Grants Pass permanently from the Woodland, CA. area and were active members of Chapter V (we like to call it Chapter 5). If you've ever attended the Toys for Tots ride in Woodland, CA. then you may recognize Clarence as good old St. Nick. They are a great couple and we want to welcome them as new members of Chapter A, OR.
As you can tell by the photo, it didn't take them long to fit right into the back woods of So. Oregon.
Larry brought Rally tickets to hand out for members to sell but was surprised when the members themselves bought them all up. Have no fear, more tickets are on the way. Wouldn't it be great if someone (like me) won the new 1800 Goldwing?
Once again, the only thing missing that could have possibly made this a better event were those who were unable to attend.
Look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting next Saturday, then the First Aid - CPR training to follow at our house and later that evening a State Staff/Rally planning meeting/dinner at the Cottage Café in Rogue River.
Wishing Everyone a Safe Ride, Don
