A GREAT DAY

By Don Coons

Another fantastic day spent with 26 special people, 13 bikes and 3 trikes. Everything about this day was absolutely perfect. We arrived at the Chart Room in Crescent City, California on time and because Marty had made reservations we were seated immediately. Being a seafood connoisseur and thoroughly enjoying every bite it was all made better when I stole a piece of Judy's fish and then Betty gave me two more slices. The weather was perfect while we enjoyed the company of (7) seven guests who we hope choose to become new members.

Some people took a walk on the beach while others stood around in the parking lot discussing many varied subjects.

Of course, no ride is complete without a stop at DQ so we did that in Cave Junction. While enjoying our ice cream a fellow rider, JC (I won't use his name) came over and said that his reverse must have quit working on his newly acquired 1500. He said that he put it in reverse and let out the clutch (neat trick since they're both located on the left side of the bike) and nothing happened. Well, the mechanic in me started thinking relay, fuse or linkage and didn't really LISTEN to what he said. Anyway, my smart co-rider wife pipes in and asks if he tried the starter????????? Everyone must learn somehow, but from your co-rider? It's all in fun and we enjoyed a great laugh and this only adds to all the fun.

The days are getting shorter and so is the riding season. We really missed those who for some reason or other couldn't make it. Please let our ride coordinator, Steve know what your interests are so that we can all get together for fun, excitement and laughter. Please visit our webpage (event pictures, Fish & Chips 8-26-07) to view the pictures.

Please don't forget that school is starting soon and we have to watch for the little ones, school buses and school zones.

Please Ride Safe and hope to see you soon, Don Coons
