First I want to thank Scott and Cindy for traveling the length of the State of Oregon to administer the First Aid/CPR/AED training for chapter's A and M. I also wish to thank all those who attended including Randi Kobernik (our State Treasurer) and helped to make this an enjoyable and fun class. It's always great to get together and especially for such a worthwhile cause.
I haven't done the paper work yet but many of our Co-riders will now advance to level 4 Safety qualification. Also, those riders who attended, will be able to qualify for level 4 at our State Rally by enrolling in our on bike safety class. Click here for the Safety Rider Class registration form.
It's really great to see so many members take an active part in the Safety program and really makes me feel that my time is well spent. This proves to be as much or more of an education for me as it is for everyone else.
One of my safety films starts out with the trainer saying that for 1 year he learned to ride and for 19 more he continued to make the same mistakes. I know it has been an education for me since I accepted the position of State Safety Director and only hope that others have gained as much information as I have.
After the Safety Training, 23 of us enjoyed a great meatloaf dinner at the Cottage Café in Rogue River where we conducted our State Staff meeting and planning session for our State rally. A lot of work and effort is going into making this a fun weekend so really hope everyone is planning to attend. (Just wait until you see me do the Hula, NOT.) But just wait until you see swivel hips Betty. We're really looking forward to a great time with lots to laugh about.
Wishing Safe Rides to everyone, Don
