It's with great pleasure that I can report that out of 52 known chapter "A" members, 23 have completed some form of Safety Training according to my present records. That's 44% of our Chapter members. Now if I could only get 3 more members to complete the level 1 that would put us at 50%. Better yet, I want to shoot for 100% by the end of 2007. That will be the end of my two-year appointment and I could really feel that I accomplished something.

 

To those who attended the safety Training Class on 3 December, I say, Congratulations. Please tell others that it didn't hurt a bit and that it was great fun. National has also responded with their congratulations and said that the patches are in the mail. Watch January and February edition of Touring News to find your names listed. What an easy way to become a celebrity.

 

I hope that everyone in attendance gained some small bit of information that was helpful to him or her and that the Co-Riders who participated in the on-bike training gained some comfort in knowing what to do in an emergency.

 

My door is always open to help and or locate and give accurate information pertaining to Safety. Also, any Co-rider who wants to practice the on bike training feel free to contact me and we'll have a cup of coffee and practice as many times as you like until you're comfortable with the procedure.
